Privacy Policy

Dividnd builds a personalized financial plan from information you give us. That means we hold detailed information about your money, and you deserve a plain account of what we collect, why, and who else can see it. This page is that account, written to describe what the product actually does.

What we collect

Account details. Your email address, and a password if you create one. If you sign in with Google, we receive the email address and basic profile information on your Google account. We never see your Google password.

What you tell us during onboarding. This is financial information and we treat it that way: your name and preferred name, date of birth, tax filing status, the state you live and work in, your jobs (employer, role, dates, and pay), income, monthly expenses, cash savings, investment account balances, debts and their interest rates, your goals and their timelines, your risk tolerance, and whether you are claimed as a dependent.

What you type into the assistant after onboarding, and anything you enter in the free-text box at the end of the questionnaire.

What we derive from the above: the knowledge graph of your finances and the plans generated from it.

We do not ask for and do not want your bank login, account numbers, Social Security number, or card details. If you type any of those into a free-text field, please delete it and contact us.

Why we collect it

To compute your plan. Every dollar figure we show you is produced by our own tax and forecasting engine running on the answers you gave. That computation is the product.

To keep your plan current, so that when something in your situation changes, the plan changes with it.

To operate your account and contact you about it.

We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not build profiles for anyone else's benefit.

Who else sees it

Supabase, which hosts our database and handles authentication. Your records live there, on servers in the United States.

Vercel, which hosts and serves the application.

Anthropic, which provides the AI model that writes the wording of your plan. To word a plan, we send the relevant details of your financial situation to Anthropic's API. The model is used for language only — it cannot produce or alter any dollar figure, and it is not permitted to state a number that our engine did not compute. Anthropic does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.

API Ninjas, which we query for published tax bracket data. No personal information is sent — only a request for public tax tables.

Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.

That is the complete list. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not use it to train any model of our own.

How it is protected

Your records are protected by database-level row security, which means the database itself enforces that only your account can read your data. It is not a rule applied in our application code that a bug could bypass.

Connections are encrypted in transit. Our API keys are held server-side and are never exposed to your browser.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email hello@dividnd.app and we will act on it.

Deletion means deletion: your account, your answers, your graph, and your generated plans. Some records may persist briefly in encrypted backups before those expire.

You can stop using the service at any time, and you can revoke Dividnd's access to your Google account from your Google security settings.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists, because the plan is regenerated from your stored answers. If you delete your account, we delete the underlying data.

Age

Dividnd is built for adults and is not directed at children. Do not use it if you are under 13, and do not provide us information about anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how your information is handled, we will update the date at the top and notify account holders. Continuing to use Dividnd after a change means you accept the updated policy.
